Jovan's love affair with drums began at age 8 when he received his first drum kit. What started as enthusiastic banging quickly evolved into a serious study of rhythm and timing. He absorbed influences from rock, funk, and Latin music before discovering the subtle art of jazz drumming. The polyrhythmic complexity and conversational nature of jazz percussion captivated him immediately.
What makes Jovan exceptional is his musicality. He doesn't just keep time—he shapes it, bends it, and plays with it while always maintaining that essential swing feel.
